Connie Warren Sloan left a message on February 15, 2023:
My deepest condolences to the Owen family. Sonya and her family held fond memories for my parents Gene and Stella Warren. I recall my dad telling stories about the senior trip he and my mom chaperoned for Sonya and Larry and the Dora class of 59. How they traveled to Nashville and got lost. Also, my sweet mom talking about days at Dora High School when she was in her first career as a cook alongside Sonya's mother Laina. In later years I had the opportunity to worship with Jerry and was delighted to make the connection that he too was one of the children of Laina. As this chapter closes for Sonya, may you find comfort in Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints."

Loren Cook II left a message on February 13, 2023:
My thoughts and prayers go out to Sonya, who I called Aunt Sonya. She was an exceptional mentor to me growing up in the company as a little kid. She was a legend at Loren Cook Company for over 30 years. I was grateful to be working next to her in customer service. She was so well liked by our reps, and was a very nice person, but firm. She definitely has a backbone! Sonya was a big country music fan, and Ricky Van Shelton was her favorite. She made a killer meatloaf and brisket. I was fortunate to enjoy that on several occasions. I remembered how happy she was when she got married to Kerry. Finally, the most important thing about Sonya is her love for Christ. I know that she`s reunited with Kerry, family, and friends and I`m comforted by knowing that. May we all reflect on her life, and learn from her and the many values that she upheld. Loren Cook II

Since moving to Springfield in Nov. 2008 I've tried to call Sonya at least a couple of times a week because I know how lonely it can be at times living by yourself. Even though we didn't talk for very long most of the time I think it helped her just to know someone cared. At least I hope it did. I'm going to really miss those calls Sis.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

She was one of my favorite Aunts! She always made a point of coming to visit when we came to town. I will always remember her laugh. She will be missed by so many. I know Bryan is eternily grateful for her Cardinal Memorabilia. She had a lot. I know you are at peace now. Say Hi to Mom and Grandma for me! Til next time. Love you! Sheri
