Stacy Ann Hilburn, age 52, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on June 7, 2025, at Mercy Hospital. Stacy was born to John and Elizabeth (Rhoads) Hilburn on June 10, 1972, in Springfield. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1991. Shortly after high school, Stacy met the love of her life, Gary Green, and the two remained united for thirty-four years. Stacy and Gary were blessed with three children: Caleb, Shelby, and Alyssa.
Stacy lived for being a mom and grandma and she cherished each one of her children and grandchildren beyond measure. It was widely known that her grandchildren were her prized possessions for whom she would do anything. Stacy had a huge personality that was sometimes larger than life itself. She enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes such as going to the lake, swimming, fishing, and soaking up the summer sun. She also enjoyed spending time at thrift stores and flea markets, drinking Dr. Pepper, and sipping her favorite coffee. She also liked to read and watch her favorite cooking shows. Stacy was also known to be a determined cancer warrior who courageously battled metastatic breast cancer the last four years of her remarkable life. Nothing, however, not even cancer, could diminish her zest for life, her sense of humor, her positive attitude, or the love she had for her family and friends. Her legacy of unconditional love, contagious laughter, and family unity will live forever in the lives of those she touched.
Stacy was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Nancy Webb and Anna Hilburn; father, John Hilburn; aunts, Elaine Rhoads and Kathy Rhoads; and cousins, Anita Wade and Samantha Friend. She is survived by her husband, Gary Green; son, Caleb Green and his wife, Samantha; daughter, Shelby Green (Scott Applegate); daughter, Alyssa Green; six grandchildren: Kelsey Green, Mason Green, Tanner Green, Watson Harris, Hazel Green, and Jesse Green. Stacy will be deeply and greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
