Stanley Ross Morgan, 72, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, April 12. God sent his angels for Stan while his family was by his side. He was born February 26, 1941, son of the late Trevor and Bonnie Morgan.
Stan attended Central High and was a member of the first graduating class of Hillcrest High in 1959. He worked his entire career in sales and made many friends along the way.
Stan lived his life for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He always put his family before himself and cherished every moment he spent with them. His quick wit and sense of humor will be long remembered.
Stan had a keen knowledge of and was a fierce competitor in sporting activities including football, golf, bowling and billiards. He enjoyed stock car racing and all the weekend road trips.
Stan is survived by his lifelong love, Suzy; sons Randy and his wife Carol; Chuck and his wife Melissa; grandchildren Eric and wife Ashli; Madison and Andy; dear friend Lena Pitt; brothers Rodney and Myron and his wife Wanda; nephews Chad and Rob, niece Cathy, and almost adopted son Roy Hagewood.
A celebration of Stan’s life and visitation will be held at Greenlawn South Funeral Home in Springfield, MO on Monday, April 15 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Private funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 16. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stan’s memory to Macedonia Day Care building fund or the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri (swh.org).
