Steven Clark Childers

June 3, 1966 - February 2, 2016

Steven Clark Childers, 49, passed from this realm February 2, 2016 following a motor vehicle accident. Born June 3, 1966 to the loving parents of Elpha Sue Childers and Wayne Max Childers; he was a beloved son, brother, husband, and close friend to many throughout the world. Steve was a Professional Musician; a skilled guitarist whose heart and soul belonged to Heavy Metal. The bands he played for include Public Assassin, Black Witchery, and Burning Inside. Steve spent several years living in Orlando Florida were he supported his musical career by installing custom window dressings. Customers often took the time to express their appreciation for Steve’s professionalism and attention to detail. Recently Steve returned to Springfield and was employed installing motorized stair lift systems. Steve was enjoying the opportunity to reconnect with his childhood friends. Having Steve as a friend meant you had a lifelong friend. Steve loved Music, Movies, Stupid Humor, Cats, and kicking it back with friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Wayne Max Childers. He is survived by his mother- Elpha Sue Clark Childers, sister-Pam Childers Batten, brother-in-law Bobby Batten, niece-Lanie Batten-Goodman and an ex-wife Christina Turner-Childers. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.

Steve was a very sweet person. I meet him when he was installing mini blinds and the company store there supplies at the property I was working for in Lake Mary, Fl. Thoughts and prayers got out to all of Steve’s family.
