In her wonderful journey through life for 82 years, Sue Ann (Willis) Crayton was born in Springfield, MO on April 2nd, 1941.  She was the daughter of Richard John Willis and Mary Alice (Mathis) Willis.  Sue departed this world surrounded by her family on December 6th, 2023 to be with the Lord, her husband (Dean), her parents and her loved ones that passed before her.

Sue graduated from Saint Agnes High School (Class of 1959), her senior year the Boys Basketball team won the Missouri State Basketball Championship in Columbia, MO.  She was a member of the Cheerleading squad that helped by cheering them to victory.

After high school, Sue’s passion turned to helping children and during that part of her journey she met her husband.  Sue was united in marriage to Dean O. Crayton at Saint Agnes Cathedral on April 8th, 1967.  They quickly started a family and she raised three active boys sometimes looking like an Army drill sergeant.  Life long members of the Catholic Church, Sue and Dean was always at mass usually seen in the back pew.  As a Teacher’s Aide, she spent twenty six years with the Springfield Public School system teaching special need students.

Sue is survived by three sons, Sean and Brock resides in Springfield, MO.  Lance and his wife Kristin in St. Louis, MO.  Six grandchildren, Baylee in Fayetteville, AR, Taylor and Olivia in Springfield, MO along with Delaney, Luke and Jack in St. Louis, MO.  Two of her four brothers, Joseph and Rick.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 16th at 11:00am at Greenlawn Funeral Home East 3540 E Seminole, Springfield, MO 65809
