Sue Sparks, 79, of Branson, MO, went home to be with Jesus on August 7, 2026.  She was born in Sullivan, MO, on October 13, 1946, and was a resident of Branson, MO, for 31 years, formerly a resident of Banning, CA, for 35 years.

Sue was predeceased by her parents, Jasper and Helen Bouse. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carl Sparks; son Randy (Rosann) Sparks; and daughter Robin (Jeff) Greenwood. She was lovingly known as “Mimi” to six grandchildren: Ashton (Bo) Dejager, Kaitlin Greenwood (Kyler Chester), Megan (Andrew) Greig, Coy Greenwood, Autumn (Hunter) Talley, and Christopher Sparks. Great-grandchildren include Grayson, Cooper, Ellie, and Mia Dejager, Rayden Chester, and Lake Talley. She is also survived by her brother, Ron (Sheila) Bouse, and sister, Sandy (Dan) Chadd.

Sue was a member of First Baptist Church in Branson, MO, for 31 years. She was also a member of the Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary for 15 years and volunteered at the Taney Hills Library and thrift store for many years. In Banning, she worked as an optometry receptionist and as a librarian. She also spent many years babysitting her grandkids, Kaitlin and Coy.

Sue’s hobbies included sewing—including making many baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and even the fire department children—gardening (she loved her flowers), and feeding birds, especially hummingbirds. She was an avid reader and loved to cook and bake!  She adored cats and was not known to ever be without one.  Most of all, Sue loved her family and was happiest when she had a baby on her lap!

The memorial service will be at First Baptist Church in Branson on Wednesday, August 12; visitation at 1 pm and service at 2 pm. The burial service at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO, will be Thursday, August 13, at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
