Susie “Rosella” Stewart (White) daughter of Moses and Viola White was born on January 23, 1938, at Black, MO. She died at the age of 84 years 8 months and 2 days.
Rosella was married to James W. Stewart on May 20, 1961. The marriage endured for 61 years 4 months and 5 days. Together they had 3 children, James Edward, Bradley Steven, and Mary Beth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Nola May Randall, and one son Bradley Steven.
Susie is survived by her husband, James (Jim), a son, James (Jim) and his wife Debbie of Nixa, MO; daughter Mary Lummis of Nixa; a brother John Hardy of Festus, MO. Also, 4 grandchildren; Aaron Wimberly and his wife Janelle of Nixa; Athan Lummis of Rogers, Arkansas; Corey Lummis of Springfield, MO; and Claire Lummis of Nixa, MO; one great granddaughter, Audrey.
She professed a faith in Christ and had been a member of Springfield First Free Will Baptist Church since January 1969. Most of her adult life was spent in Springfield, MO. She retired as an employee of the Springfield School System.
She was called wife, mom, Grandma Rosie, Mimi, aunt, cousin, and friend. To know her was to love her and she will be missed by all her family and friends.
Visitation for Rosella will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, at the funeral home with burial at Hazelwood Cemetery following the service.
