Sydney Sue (Sugg) Lea was born on August 11, 1934, in Green Forest, AR. She married her best friend, William Hubert Lea, on March 6, 1970. She was a loving mother, grandma and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her son, Ronald “Steve” Burkett, and her brothers; JB Sugg and John Sugg. She is survived by her husband, William Lea, sister; Joan Plumlee, sister-in-law Judy Sugg, daughter-in-law Frankie Burkett, grandchildren; John “Chris” Burkett (Amie), Jason Burkett (Stefanie), Stephanie Ellis (Danny), great-grandchildren; Killian Burkett (Mariah), Alexander Burkett, Madilyn Burkett, Justice Burkett, Raegan Ellis, Trinity Burkett, Peyton Ellis, and Sean Ellis.

Sue was a shining light in this world. She was kind, loving and supportive. She was active in her church community. She epitomized the Greatest Commandment given to us in the Bible, Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Her Love for her family was close behind. She departed this world on Saturday, March 22, 2025, and is rejoicing in Heaven.

Visitation for Sydney will be Tuesday, March 25, 2025, 10:00 AM at Greenlawn funeral home, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield MO 65807, funeral services are following the visitation at 11:00 AM  with burial at Sinking Creek Cemetery, Everton MO.
