Sylvia Byrle Horr, age 86, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. She was born on Tuesday, August 14, 1934 in Portland, Maine to George and Lillian (MacVane)Johnson. Sylvia would go on to graduate high school in Portland, Maine and meet the love of her life David Horr. The two would be married on August 20, 1955 in Long Island, Maine. After marriage Sylvia would become the best wife, mother, and homemaker. Outside of attending to her family she loved cross stitch and sewing. She also attended regular services at West Division Street Baptist Church.

Sylvia is proceeded in death by her parents George and Lillian; loving husband David Horr; two brothers, Earl Johnson and George “Bud” Johnson both of Long Island, Maine; two sisters, Lois Egan Stone of Mountain, Georgia, and Carolyn Peterson of Westbrook, Maine.

She is survived by her five children, David Johnson of Hays, Kansas, Timothy Horr of Lodi, California, Daniel Horr (Carolyn) of Springfield, Missouri, James Horr of Springfield, Missouri and Rebecca Tobin of Springfield, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Daniel Horr, Matthew Johnson, Christopher Horr, Amanda Pyke (Scott), Haley Horr, Eric Horr, Alicia Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Kevin Horr, Zachary Tobin and Tiffani Tobin; four great-grandchildren, Cobie Pyke, Coltin Pyke, Alessa Horr, and Luna Horr; she also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sylvia will be laid to rest with her husband out at Missouri Veterans Cemetery on Monday, February 8, 2021, visitors are welcome after 11:30 a.m. Due to Covid-19 the family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
