Terry Gene Harrell, 76, passed away on July 30, 2026. He was born on May 8, 1950, in Springfield, Missouri.

Although Terry was born in southwest Missouri, he spent much of his life in Texas before eventually returning to the Ozarks, where he and his beloved wife, Sandy Harrell, made their home in Fordland, Missouri.

Following his graduation from high school, Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he built a life defined by hard work, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Over the years, he held a variety of jobs, beginning in retail, where he met the love of his life, Sandy, in 1971. The two were married in 1972 and shared 54 years of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.

Terry’s career included working as an oil rig supervisor before fulfilling his dream of owning his own business, operating two delivery routes. He was never one to shy away from a challenge and was always looking ahead to the next opportunity.

Outside of work, Terry found great joy in spending time with his family and making memories camping near Kimberling City, Missouri. Some of his happiest moments were spent alongside his father-in-law and best friend, Jim Hancock. Together, the two were always dreaming up their next business venture—most often involving livestock. While their ideas were ambitious, Sandy was often the voice of reason, gently steering Terry away from ventures she knew were better left as ideas. Those stories became cherished memories and reflected the humor, optimism, and adventurous spirit that defined Terry.

Above all, Terry was devoted to his family. He and Sandy were blessed with one son, Brian Harrell, and later welcomed the joy of a granddaughter, Kaleigh Harrell, whom he loved dearly.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Opal Harrell; his sister, Sherry Taylor Harrell; and his father-in-law and lifelong best friend, Jim Hancock.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandy Harrell; his son, Brian Harrell; his granddaughter, Kaleigh Harrell; his mother in law, Helen Hancock; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Debbie and David Pruitt, Susan Mathison, Danny and Gail Smith, Jim Jr. and Murwyn Hancock, and Curtis and Crystal Hancock; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service to follow.
