Terry Lee Tabor, 57 of Strafford, MO, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 in his home, surrounded by his family after a long battle with brain tumors. He was born on September 30, 1954, in Springfield, Mo., to Paul L. Tabor and Rosa L. Tabor. He graduated from Central High School in 1972. He served in the U.S. Air-Force as a welder from 1972 to 1986. After his discharge, he helped with the city council in Strafford, Mo. He then served with the Disabled American Veterans, where he soon became Commander serving from 1997 to 2004 at the Orlan E. Smith Memorial #11 D.A.V. Post. Later, he served as State Commander of the D.A.V. from 2004 to 2006. He never gave up on life, always making sure that his family and friends were taken care of and to Know that they were all loved by him. He loved to go fishing, hunting and spending time with the people he loved. His greatest joy was being able to hear his grandchildren laughing and playing and being able to spend time with them.
Terry is survived by his wife Donna L. Tabor, his mother, Rosa Lea Tabor both of Strafford, Mo, two sons; Robert P. Tabor, Springfield, Mo. and Clinton A. Tabor, Strafford, Mo, two brothers; Ricky R. Tabor, and Garry B. Tabor, both of Strafford, Mo. two sisters; Diana L. Holton, Memphis, Tn. and Paula E. Saari, Salida, Co. and seven grandchildren: Jessica S. Tabor, Cody D. Tabor, Hailey C. Gortney, Harley C. Tabor, Ktlyn B. Tabor, Anastasia A. Tabor, and Adaira J. Tabor, and a daughter-in-law; Tonia N. Tabor, from Springfield. He was preceded in death by his father Paul L. Tabor and a granddaughter: Bobbi L. Tabor
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
