Theda Hazen, age 94, of Springfield, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 25, 2013. She was born on July 15, 1919 to Elmer and Bertha Hudgens in Newburg, MO. She married the love of her life, Clyde Hazen, in 1937, and they remained married until his death in 1998. Theda is also preceded in death by her son, David Hazen, grandson David Hazen II, and sisters Eleanor Smith, Beryl Harris, Olive Brune and Fern Affolter. She is survived by her daughter Lenora White of Salem, MO; daughter-in-law Jane Hazen of Springfield, MO; grandchildren Mark White, Stacy Jones, Kelly White, Amanda James and Heather Bryant; brother Bud Hudgens; sister Patricia Morris; her much loved niece Rhonda Affolter; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Theda was a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield for over 60 years, where she enjoyed many years teaching the Bible. She was a great prayer warrior who loved reading, poetry and visiting with many dear friends. Visitation will be on Friday, November 29, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 12:00 noon, in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
