Thelma L. Le Jeune was born August 6, 1915 in Schofield, Mo to Elza and Alice (Barnett) Eagon.
She departed this life December 25, 2011 in Springfield, Mo. On February 7, 1942 she married Forrest Le Jeune in Springfield, Mo. To this union was born one son, Richard Weldon.
Forrest and Thelma spent their married life in Polk County, where they raised dairy and beef cattle. Until her health declined, Thelma continued to raise a garden, sew, and crochet. She was a 4-H community leader when Richard was young and a project leader when her granddaughter was in 4-H.
In 1927, Thelma was saved and joined Schofield Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her death.
Thelma spent her last years in the care of her son, Richard and wife Elaine. This allowed her to spend precious time with her great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband Forrest, her parents, brother, Ruby Eagon, and sisters Inez Kirby and Mary McKinney.
She is survived by son Richard and wife Elaine of Halfway; grandchildren Suzanne Rains of Halfway and Keith Le Jeune and wife Christy of Springfield. Three great-grandchildren: William Le Jeune, Emily Rains, and Rowden Le Jeune and brother-in law Kenneth McKinney and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Thelma L. Le Jeune will be Tuesday, December 27, 2011 6:00-8:00 pm at Pitts Chapel, in Bolivar, Missouri.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Schofield Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Schofield Missionary Baptist Church Maintenance Fund.
