Thelma “Frances” Woodall, of Springfield, went to be with her Lord, and loved ones who passed before
her, on December 28, 2013 at the age of 94.
Frances was born Jan 11,1919 in Lawrence County, MO to Charles “Charley” and Martha “Matty”
Newcum. She married the love of her life, Howard Woodall, on February 20,1937. They were blessed
with 76 wonderful years together.
Frances and Howard started their family in Aurora, MO then relocated to Springfield in 1941. They
raised 3 sons and a daughter together. “Francie” and Howard loved to get in the the car and “go where
the road would take them”. She loved her family, was a devout Christian and throughout the years took
care of grandchildren, then great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. We will miss her stories, big laugh and feisty spirit. She taught us much and will
forever be in our hearts.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, her eldest son Bobby Ray Woodall
and granddaughter Lisa Woodall. She is survived by her husband Howard Woodall, sister Jean
Stubblefield, daughter-in-law Beverly Woodall, son Roy Woodall and wife Grace, son Don Woodall and
wife Judy, daughter Debra Walker, 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Remembrance will be held Thursday January 2, 2014 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield.
Visitation begins at 10 am with funeral service following at 11 am. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
