“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” A Lincoln
Tim Teeling, 48, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday February 27, 2013 after suffering a long illness.
Tim loved life! He loved spending time with family and friends, playing pratical jokes, and “texting” with his nieces and nephews. Talking on the phone and catching up with all the gossip and latest news from “back home ”became a daily ritual. He could always depend on “Mamal Mary”, whom he affectionately referred to as his “monster-in-law”, to keep him up on the latest news from home and around the globe! He adored the outdoors. His idea of a great time was hunting , fishing, planting, nature photography, and working in his garden. Of course, we all loved eating the goodness that came from it! Tim had a kind soul and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed being a part of people’s lives. A person could always count on him to make sure their vehicle was “ in check “. Automotive, classic cars and trucks were among his great loves, as well as working hard. He loved competition and the fast-paced career life he found in auto management for over 20 years. He enjoyed listening to all different types of music, especially from the 60’s and 70’s. He very much enjoyed doing things for his family, especially cooking. He was a “grill cook extraordinaire” and loved watching them enjoy his creations. Memories of Tim will include him standing out in the “below freezing” temperatures, in his shorts and winter coat, because he insisted that the grill and not bake, as to truly bring out the best flavors.
He met Tammy when they were 16 years old, and they have shared a life together ever since. He was born in San Diego, California, lived in Southern Illinois, and moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Tammy, and two children, Trevor and Tara, his step-father, brother and sisters and their spouses, as well as in-laws. Survivors include several nieces and nephews who treasured him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Teeling and Barbara Hess and a niece, Angel Sheppard.
Tim was much loved and will truly be missed. A celebration of Life will take place at Green South Funeral home with visitation from 2-4 on Sunday March 3, 2013, and funeral on Monday March 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Underprivileged School Children’s Fund for Springfield Public Schools or donation can be made to assist the family with medical and funeral expenses.
A special thanks to those dear friends and family members who continued to reach out to us during Tim’s illness. Just letting us know you were thinking of us, meant so much! We are eternally grateful!
