Tommy Shannon Tackett, known to those who loved him as Pom Pom, left this world on September 30, 2021. He was born in Orlando, Florida on April 3, 1975 and passed in his sleep of natural causes at the age of 46. We’re pretty sure he had a Tee time with Saint Peter and we can only imagine the bet on that golf game.
Tommy left behind many who loved him dearly including his Pop and mom, Ricky Tackett Sr and Diana Tackett, mother, and dad Wanda Yawn and Sonny Hollingshead. He had 3 adoring children, Tristen Tackett, Zak Tackett, and Reed Dankenbring. Tom was one of five brothers and he leaves behind brothers, Ricky Tackett Jr., Charles Tackett, Eric Tackett, and Skyler Tackett. He was also Uncle Pom Pom to a slew of Nieces, Nephews, and great Nephews. Tom also left behind his partner Lequita Butler and many, many dear friends.
Tom was a machine operator at 3M and had worked as a CNA in the Medical Field. He attended Clever High School and Ozark Technical College.
Tommy was a fun loving guy who could bring a smile on anyone’s face. On Sunny days you could find him riding his motorcycle with the wind blowing through his braids. He loved fishing and golf, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. One of his favorite places was the family camp known as Camp Wannapla, where he would, fish, boat, swim and enjoy a warm campfire while listening to Metallica. Tom also loved dogs, and his dog Dank now lives with the pack at his brother Eric’s house. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved friendly bets on the outcome of the games. His favorite tattoos were eyes, he’d laugh and say he could see everything. So, we now know that Tom really does have his eyes on us. He lived life on his terms and left the is earth the way he wanted, at home in his sleep. In lieu of Tommy memorial donations may be made in Tommy’s name to Have a Heart Rescue.
