Tony
D. Gonzales, age 92 of Bolivar, MO, a native of California, passed away
peacefully at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO, August 29, 2013. He was born in Dos Palos, CA, May 9, 1921,
and was raised in Central Valley, California.
He was an accomplished welder, fabricator/inventor, helper of mankind
and leader of craftsmen. He is a retired
Boilermaker from Local’s #6, #10, and #749 in California.
He was highly regarded by many and
loved by many more. He blessed many
people in this world through his earthly travels. Tony was a World War II Army Air Corp
veteran. He served in Okinawa, Japan, as
a waste gunner on a B17 bomber.
He is preceded in death by his
parents; his wife Rebecca Gonzales on May 30, 2009; and two daughters: Margie
Ruiz, and Patty McDougall.
Tony is survived by one son, Benjamin
Gonzales of Hawaii; one daughter Gloria Furtado and husband Rich of Bolivar,
MO; 21 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson; one
sister Nellie Acosta of Fresno, CA; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Tony held responsible positions in his
life, which in turn enabled him to help others with a “hand up” for a better
life.
