It is with a solemn heart that we announce the passing of UL Tack Oh, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on January 6, 2025, at the age of 82 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born on March 15, 1942, in Okcheon, Chungbuk, South Korea, UL Tack Oh made a lasting impact in both his personal and professional life. He was a proud citizen of the United States and dedicated nearly his entire professional career to the manufacturing industry as an operator technician at General Electric, while personally dedicating his life to God our Father as an elder to local Korean churches for over 33 years. He also served as a founding member and as President of the Korean Association of Springfield, MO., helping many families make the transition to the United States.
UL Tack Oh served honorably in the Republic of Korea Air Force, demonstrating his commitment and service to his country. He will be remembered not only for his work ethic but also for his warmth, kindness, and steadfast love for his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Soon Oh; his sons, Han Il Oh and Han Min Oh; his daughter, Alice Oh; his siblings, brother Sok Oh and sister Chin Davidson; and a loving lineage that includes granddaughters Emelia, Katherine, Allison, Ella, Reese, Charlotte, Yuna, and Juna; as well as his great-grandchildren, Marielle and John Thomas Bemmes.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of UL Tack Oh. A Funeral Service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South on January 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a Graveside Service at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at 300 W Grand Street, Springfield, MO, where he will be laid to rest.
In this time of mourning, we are grateful for the life of UL Tack Oh whose legacy of love for Christ, dedication to his family, and resilience to live life to the fullest have made a lasting impact to our hearts.
We will always love you. You will be deeply missed and we will forever be inspired by the wisdom you imparted on our lives.
May he find eternal peace and rest with our Lord in paradise.
