Velma Kay Long, age 65 of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in Cox South. She was born August 25, 1946, in Ozark, to the late Elmer and Lillie (Allen) Hale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe J. Long; daughter, Nicole M. Long; her parents, and two brothers, Marvin and Eugene Hale.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tonya Pearce and husband Shane and Vickie Worley and husband Joe; grandchildren, Shane, Jr., and Dalton Pearce, Randy, Jr., and Michael Rear, Nathan, Michelle and Tiffany Worley; siblings, Delores Dick, Delbert Hale and Cecil Hale and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2012, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Chaplain Craig Buck officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard, MO. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at noon.
