Velma Pearl Jobe, age 85, of Nixa, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in her home. She was born May 12, 1928, in Burr Oak, KS, to Forrest and Ollie (Lewis) Hockett. She was a member of the South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church, where she was affectionately known as “Grandma Jobe”.She was preceded in death by her husband Troy Gene Jobe, in 2005.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Jobe, Nixa, MO her son Bruce Jobe, Nixa, MO a sister Ardith Cook, Ackworth, IA and a brother Travis Hockett, Overland Park , KS. Velma is also survived by her extended family, at the church and also in the surrounding community.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, in the funeral home.
