Velma (Blevins) “Nana” Soden, age 89, passed away Saturday, June 27th, 2020, at her grandsons house in “Florida, Florida, Florida”, after battling Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s for a number of years.
Nana was born September 12, 1930 in Selmore, MO, to Fred and Bessie Blevins. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Soden on February 22, 1946, in Harrison, AR. Nana enjoyed fishing,traveling, being outside taking care of her yard, and making her house a home. She was a founding member of Fremont Hills Baptist Church, Nixa, MO, and attended Riverdale Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Janice Stewart, Nixa; one brother, Tommy Blevins, Springfield; granddaughter, Carrie Covey, Springfield; grandson Rob Covey and wife Holly, St. Augustine, FL; great- grandchildren, Victoria, Noelle, Arianna, Gabriella, and Isabella; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death her husband Robert Soden, daughter, Saundra Lynn Covey and husband David; parents, Fred and Bessie Blevins; and four brothers, infant Glen Blevins, Todd Blevins, William Blevins, and Gene Blevins.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 am- 10:30 am, Monday, July 6, 2020 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with graveside services at 11 am at Glenn Cemetery, Nixa, MO.
