Vera Dean Goodin, age 91, passed over Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Maranantha Village. She was born April 7, 1921, in Freemans Spur, Il, to Robert and Nancy (Ray) Gossage.
Vera married Freddie Martin Goodin in 1945 and they were married almost 40 years when he passed. Her parents Robert and Nancy Gossage, sister Ada, brothers Eldon, Harold, Carol, Dan, Calvin, Gene, and Ted, also preceded her. She is survived by daughter Vera Jane and son-in-law John Schultz of Springfield, one sister Oriene Pederson, Chicago, Il, and one brother Bill Gossage, Marlittle, MI. Across the nation are scores of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and beyond.
Vera often said she never knew a stranger and could talk to anyone. She enjoyed people and made many friends wherever she went. Over the years, she and her husband lived in Kirkwood, Eureka, Fenton, High Ridge, and the Rolla/St. James area. Since 1986 she resided in Springfield, MO.
Vera loved life and loved to dance. For many years she enjoyed dancing at Northview Senior Center and taking line dance lessons. She lived quietly, but knew what was important in life. She loved deeply—her daughter and son-in-law, her family and friends, dancing, singing, gardening, painting, reading—and enriched every life she touched during her 91 years here.
