Vera Ault was born March 12,1928 to Elmer and Sarah Jane Ault near Ravenwood, Mo. Vera met Clovis Smith at a country picnic and they were married May 4, 1946. Vera passed away February 23. 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Frank, Ben, Ted, George, Leonard and Walter. She is survived by Clovis, their two daughters, Brenda Nitzsche and Janet Morris and her husband Lynn. She is also survived by grandchildren, Melissa Sanders, Justin (Tera) Sanders, Mandy (B.J.) Jones, Shane Nitzsche, Rebecca (Sam)Underwood and Sarah (Ryan)Tobin. She had 9 great-grandchildren , many beloved nieces and nephews, and friends including Brad and Laura. Vera was a woman of strong family values and great Christian faith. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Springfield, Mo. The family wants to extend special thanks to the staffs at Mercy Hospital & Clinics, The Garden Condominiums and the Neighborhood at Quail Creek. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southwest Missouri Office of Aging Meals on Wheels Program for which she had served as a volunteer. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at 1:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with burial following at Weaver Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
