Vickie Sue Ogden, age 74, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on February 1, 2024. She was born on January 28, 1950, to Allen and Lela Jones. She graduated from Ellinwood Kansas High School in 1968, and then married Lonnie Ogden on May 23, 1969, in Ellinwood, Kansas. She was a strong believer in Christ and actively involved with her church family and ministries. She enjoyed her work as a homemaker, childcare provider, and housekeeper. In her free time, she served as a reading buddy at Holland Elementary.
She is preceded in death by her parents Allen Jones and Lela (Jones) Webb; husband, Lonnie Ogden; sister, Sandra Fields; brothers-in-law, Ron Casey and Rick Ogden; nephews, Jeff Gideon and Billy Ogden.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackquelyn and Mark Wilkison; and son, Lance and Carina Ogden; 10 grandchildren, Johnny Wilkison and Zach Waugh, Chelsea and Cody Hagan, Jamie Wilkison and Chris Honea, Skyler and Levi Meadows, Jesse and Jamine Ogden; 9 great-grandchildren, Jordan Grindstaff, Dalton and Evonna Bartlett, Lucas and Addison Thieman, Vincent, Spencer and Jackson Ogden, and Ivy Grace Wilkison; brothers, Gene Webb, Rick Webb, and Michael Newton, and brother-in-law Richard Ogden; sister, Lana Casey; sister-in-law Iris Ogden; nieces and nephews, Craig and Cheryl Fields, Aaron and Malissa Fields, Debbie Brooks, Cheri Rafiner, Jeremy and Hanna Webb, William and Sadie Webb, Tyler and Annette Webb, and Tandy Webb; many other cousins and friends; and hundreds of other “adopted” kids and grandkids.
Vickie (Grammy) was a person who truly loved the Lord, which was evidenced by the way she lived life and treated others. She was fiercely devoted to her beliefs, and her spirited personality filled every room. She leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and love.
A visitation celebrating her life will be held February 6, 2024, 10:00 AM-12:00PM, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, the service at 12:00 PM, followed by the graveside at Hopedale Cemetery.
Vickie’s favorite color was green. In celebration of her life, you are encouraged to wear green.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
