Violet W. Redus, age 85, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 in her home. She was born February 3, 1925, in Calm, Mo., to James and Adah (Underwood) Jones. She was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Church of God. She loved attending church and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Manuel and Adah Elizabeth Jones; her husband, Leamon R. Redus; seven children; one brother, Lloyd Jones; two sisters, Jewell McGuire and Laura McGuire.
She is survived by two sons, Mickel G Redus and wife Karen, Springfield, Mo., and Marven R Redus and wife Norma , Springfield, Mo.; five grandchilden; four great- grandchildren; two sisters, Laquetta Bowden and Della Jordan, both of California; and one brother, Noel J. Jones, of West Plains Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2010, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo., with Pastor Dale Wells officiating. Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, in New Home Cemetery, Gatewood, Mo.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, December 6, 2010, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Hospice.
