Violet Mae Sater Wiebe, 80, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at her home in Morrisville, Mo. after a long struggle with cancer. She was born May 27, 1931, in Springfield, Mo., to William “Bill” and Lorena “Rene” Sater.
Violet grew up and attended school in the Springfield area. In her youth she attended Northside Assembly of God with her family. She became a beautician and enjoyed cutting hair in her own beauty shop for many clients, family, and friends.
Violet married John “Jack” Wiebe on May 28, 1954. In 1964, they moved to a farm in Aldrich, Mo. where she lived until her recent move to Grant Manor in Morrisville, Mo. in October 2011. Violet and Jack loved living and raising their family on the farm. They also enjoyed many summers at a cabin in Cedar Creek, Mo. on Bull Shoals Lake.
Violet has always been involved in her church and was most recently a member of Brighton Assembly of God. She was known as “Aunt Violet” to everyone and was famous for her delicious pies and cobblers.
Violet took great pride and joy in her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and celebrating their accomplishments.
Most of all, Violet loved her Lord Jesus Christ and prayed fervently for anyone that had a spiritual or physical need. Her greatest desire would be to see all of her friends and loved ones accept Christ as their Savior.
In her last few weeks, Violet was greatly comforted by the presence of many family and friends that visited and stayed with her around the clock.
Preceding her in death were her parents William “Bill” and Lorena “Rene” Sater, her sister Faye Mace, her husband John “Jack” Wiebe, and one grandbaby Emily Ann Wiebe.
She is survived by three sisters: Iris Young, Sandra Eickelman, and Linda Williams. Also surviving are her son Donald Wayne Wiebe and Pam Anderson, daughter Caraline Wiebe Banker, son John Wiebe and his wife Christy, daughter Annette Pipenhagen and her husband Bruce, stepson Richard “Dick” Wiebe, and the following grandchildren: Ann Wiebe, Allison Wiebe, Brandon Banker, Ashley Pipenhagen) Maples and her husband Clinton, Hayley Pipenhagen, Adam Pipenhagen, Taylor Pipenhagen, Elizabeth Wiebe, and Jack Wiebe. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved deeply and many good friends.
Visitation will be Friday, December 9 at Greenlawn North Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. in Springfield, Mo. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, at Brighton Assembly of God in Brighton, Mo. Interment will follow immediately at Robberson Prairie Cemetery.
