Virgil Elgie “Buck” House, 91, of Bolivar, MO, passed away November 15, 2012, at Cox Medical Center South. He spent the last 3 years of his life at Missouri Veterans Home Mt. Vernon, MO. Virgil was born July 25, 1921, in Goodson, MO, to Henry and Nora (Jump) House. He served during World War II in the US Army. He spent most of his life as a farmer in the Goodson area, and retired later years from Central Missouri University as live-in custodians with his wife for 17 years.
Virgil was saved at age 13 at Lindley Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather. He made it his life responsibility to see that his children and grand children heard the word of God. His testimony will be remembered by many. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. They will take comfort in knowing he is reunited in heaven with his loved ones.

Virgil was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Gertrude (Sikes) House; his parents; brothers: Willard and Melbie House; sister Dorothy Lea House; and many dear old friends.
He is survived by a son Virgil E. “Bud” House and wife Carol of Ash Grove, MO; a daughter Barbara House-Garcia and husband Esteban of Ft. Worth, TX; seven grandchildren: Scott Roberts of Capac, MI, Sandy Korytar of Bolivar, MO, Robert House of St. Joseph, MO, Tammy Lawrence of Savannah, MO, Angela Deragowski of Ft. Worth, TX, DJ House of Ash Grove, MO, and Brandon House of Ash Grove, MO; six great grandchildren: Erica Wagner, Jessica Roberts, Lindsay Presley, Alexis Poirier, Cameron Nelson, and Elijah House; and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2012, at Pitts Chapel. Burial will follow in Payne Cemetery Polk, MO. Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
