Virginia Helen Margaret Drumheiser, age 90, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 at the home of her daughter, Ellen Montford. She was born September 9, 1921, in Omaha, NB, to Hiland and Helen (Schneider) Kelley. She attended Springfield Teachers College (SMSU). Virginia loved to garden , she loved her Day Lillies and Irises; crossword puzzles, she loved to watch FOX news and the Weather Channel . Her grandchildren always looked forward to her homemade peanut butter fudge,chocolate fudge, and cookies.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter A. Winter and Laurant Drumheiser, her parents, Hiland and Helen Kelley; and three brothers, Herndon Kelley, Alden Kelley, and Norman Kelley.
She is survived by her five children, Erin W. Winter and wife Nancy of Apple River Il, Loren D. Winter and wife Queeta of Rogersville, Ellen P. Montford and husband Rex of Springfield,Steve E. Winter and wife Bonnie of Yukon OK, Judith V. Mullikin and husband Don of Homer AK; ten grandchildren; twenty six great – grandchildren ; two great- great grandchildren; three sisters, Kathleen Von Willer of Springfield, Patricia Summer of Springfield, and Colleen Belding of Springfield; one brother, David Kelley of Memphis TN; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Chaplain Glyn Davies officiating. A private burial will be held in Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1p.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Springfield.
