Virginia Mae Kerr, age 87, passed away April 1, 2013, in Springfield, Missouri. Virginia was born in Collbran, Colorado on May 8, 1925. She graduated from UCLA with a major in sociology. On January 22, 1949, she married Russell L. Kerr and began their fifty-four wonderful years together. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Virginia and her husband loved to travel the world, skiing in Colorado, biking in Italy, and relaxing at the beach in Hilton Head, S.C. Ten years ago, Virginia moved to Springfield and has since enjoyed time at her condo on Table Rock Lake, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, parents and son, Richard Allen Kerr. She is survived by her son, Russell Kerr, her daughters, Michelle McMann, Jan Diebling, Heidi Cravens, Becky Vitt and Jennifer Flores, and thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three wonderful son-in-laws, Jerry Diebling, Clement Cravens, and Mike Vitt, who cherished and saw as her own sons. A celebration of life service for Virginia will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
