Wade Lemoin Weaver, 88, passed from this life into his Savior’s arms, Monday evening, March 21, 2011. Wade was born December 17, 1922 in Francis, Ok. to Otho and Belle Weaver. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Glen.
Wade and Betty (Edmonds) were married June 21, 1941. To this union were born Maria and Kathy, five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Wade had a strong sense of beliefs. He believed in his country, serving in the Navy in World War II. He believed in hard work, starting his own business, the Economy Cleaners, working at the MFA, Lily Tulip, Springfield Public Schools and the High Street Baptist Church, plus many unpaid hours of helping others.
Wade believed in his family, loving and caring for his wife of nearly 70 years. Even while lying on his back unable to care for himself, his concern was for Betty. His love and commitment were evidenced by his constant request, “Would you marry me?” and her much anticipated response of “I’d love to”.
His love of his girls was unprecedented. They were his life. Whether it was driving a bus for a singing group, or working on cars in the backyard, chasing a horse that had strayed or driving back and forth across the United States to visit them in their various moves, he loved his girls.
Wade’s first and foremost belief was in the Word of God and his love for his Savior Jesus Christ. He asked Jesus to be his Savior at the age of 12 at the Hamlin Baptist Church. Through the following 76 years, he grew ever closer to his Lord.
Wade was a man of character, loyalty, honesty, strength, peace, hard work, high morals, love and full of the Word of God. May these traits continue on through all whose lives he touched.
