Wanda Juanita Lambeth.
Wanda Lambeth,88, Springfield, died January 23, 2012, in Springfield Rehab and Healthcare Center after struggling with numerous health issues for four months.
Wanda was the eldest of seven children, born on December 9, 1923, to Oren and Maggie (Nance) Casey. She grew up on a farm in the Mark Twain Forest near Chadwick, Missouri.
Following graduation Wanda met Eugene Lambeth of Springfield, and she married on March 7, 1942. Gene and Wanda raised their children Bob and Anita Sue in Monett, Missouri. They were longtime members of Monett First Baptist Church.
Several years following Gene’s stroke. they moved to Springfield where Wanda was secretary at Zenith Radio until her retirement in 1986. They were members of Orchard Crest Baptist Church until Gene’s death in 1992.
Wanda loved her Sunday School class at Ridgecrest Baptist Church where she attended and served her Lord. She loved her savior her family and her many friends.
Preceding her in death were Gene, her parents, her brother Bill, plus other family and loved ones.
Wanda is survived by her son Robert Lambeth, his three children, Melissa Patterson her husband Tripp, Jill Lambeth and Kaitlan Lambeth, all of Oklahoma City Ok, Her daughter, Anita Boedecker and husband Roger, Springfield and their three children, Scott Boedecker and wife Angie, Kansas City, Mo, Tami Freeman, Republic, Mo, Kevin Boedecker, Springfield, Mo.
and eight great grandchildren.
Also surviving are Wanda’s two brothers, Wayne Casey and wife Mary, Ben Casey and wife Marcie, Her sisters, Betty Halcomb and husband Junior, Lorene Pare and husband Elwyn, and Carol Dusek and husband Frank.
Wanda loved much and much loved her family and scores of friends. She will be greatly missed but her “Hope of Heaven” is now her “Home for Eternity”!
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
