Wanda O. (Barnts) Williams, 96, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019.
She was born December 31, 1922 in Birchtree, Missouri, a daughter of the late Guy and Mabel Barnts.
Wanda was a sales lady at Learner’s Vogue, Sunday school teacher, cake decorator, wife, and mother. Wanda accepted Christ as her Savior in the 1950’s at West Division Street Baptist Church. Wanda had a love for serving the Lord spending many years serving through her local church. She loved to teach children especially sharing the Missionary stories in Sunday school. She married the love of her life, Tuffy (M.E.) Williams, in February of 1951. Wanda and Tuffy celebrated 49 years of marriage prior to his death in March of 2000. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish Wanda’s memory include brother, Levi “Bud” Barnts of Bois D’Arc, MO; three children: Sharron Hollan of Springfield, MO, Steve (Linda) Williams of Springfield, MO, and Tim Williams of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren: Keith, Kip, Todd, Angie, and Rachel; six great-grandchildren: Brittany, Dustin, Nikki, Jaden, Kooper, and Kinley ; and four great-great-grandchildren: Hailie, McKinsey, Ares, and Nala; and a host of family and friends .
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Tuffy (M.E.) Williams, Sister Nadine Phillips, Brother-in-Law Eugene Phillips, Sister-in-Law Selma “Ted” Barnts, and Son-in-Law Lee Hollan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 20th, 2019 at Hillside Baptist Church in Springfield with Pastor Cecil Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
