It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wanda Vee Lightfoot, who left us on May 9, 2025, at the age of 91. Wanda was born on July 24, 1933, in Pittsburg, MO, to William Barnard and Imogene (Vaughn) Lipe. She was united in marriage to Billie Dee Lightfoot October 17, 1948, and enjoyed 64 years together. They moved to Bolivar, MO, in 1959 where she created a beautiful life as a devoted mother and talented florist in the floral production industry.
Wanda Vee was saved at the age of 13 at Pittsburg Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church. She stayed involved with her grandchildren’s activities. She gave ceramics that she made as Christmas gifts and taught grandkids how to make them and homemade noodles. Wanda Vee and Billie Dee liked to go fishing.
Wanda Vee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Billie Dee Lightfoot; a granddaughter Destry James; two brothers: Ronnie and William Parker Lipe; a sister Delores Collins Wierman; and three brothers in-law: Durward Walker, Keith Collins, and Ron Wierman.
Wanda Vee will be deeply missed by her three loving sons, Gayland Lightfoot (Marcelene) of Bolivar, MO, Garland Lightfoot (Leasa) of Bolivar, MO, and Mendel Lightfoot (Sylvia) of Republic, MO; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandson; one brother Donnie Lipe (Lena) of Bolivar, MO; one sister Ada Lee Walker of Bolivar, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and the warmth of family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm at Pitts Chapel with Bro. Efton Piper officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Bolivar, MO. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
Wanda touched many hearts with her kindness and spirit, and we invite all who knew her to come together to pay tribute to a remarkable woman who will always hold a special place in our lives.

I read about the passing of your Mom on Mother’s Day. I had the time in that moment to consider her life, and its impact on me. Wanda was a lot of wonderful things to me. Friend. Sister. Example. Source. Comedian. Rock. And, in my fortunate life of having a few, an extra mom that embodied all the attributes of a virtuous woman.
I noticed one of the songs in today’s service will be, Thank You, Momma, For Praying For Me. My first reaction was, “yup”

Dear Lightfoot Family,
I was saddened to hear of Wanda Vee’s passing. I always enjoyed visiting with her @ Southside Missionary Baptist Church as well as @ Butterfield. She was a devout Christian woman who lived her life for God. I’m certain she’s basking in the glory of being with her Lord & Savior. I’m out of town Wednesday, so unable to attend visitation/service. I’m lifting up Prayer for all of Wanda Vee’s Family🙏🙏. I will see her again in Heaven 🪽🪽
