Wilburn Lee Dailey, age 62, of St. Louis, MO, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the St. Louis V.A. Medical Center.He was born June 20, 1951, in Springfield, MO, to Wilburn and Della (Abbott) Dailey. Wilburn graduated from Marshfield High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Wilburn served his fellow veterans by working for them for over forty years, helping them get the benefits that they were entitled to and the honors they deserved. He received two Undergraduate degrees in History and Political Science, and a Masters degree in History from Missouri State University. His emphasis was in Western American Expansion and Native American Studies.
Wilburn was united in marriage to Joan DeBord on June 6, 1981 in Springfield, Missouri. He was preceded in death by parents, Wilburn and Della Louise Dailey.He is survived by his wife,Joan DeBord, St. Louis, MO; two children Nicholas J. Dailey of St. Louis, MO and Jeanne-Marie DeBord Eubanks and husband Terry of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Wayne Dailey and wife Linda of Willard; and a host of family and friends.
