William A. Bardot, age 74, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011, in his home in Springfield. Bill, as friends and colleagues knew him, was born on December 31, 1936.
He was raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and was married to his loving wife, Carol, for 40 years until Carol lost her battle with cancer in 2003.
In his younger years, Bill was an avid outdoorsman, hunting big game such as bear, ram, elk, and caribou in both Alaska and Canada. One of his prized trophies, a Kodiak Brown Bear, is listed in the top 150 in the Boone & Crockett scoring system.
Bill was a devoted father to daughter, Nikki Donohue, and dedicated PaPa to his two granddaughters, Shannon and Devin. He was adored by his family and loved by a host of friends spanning from the Ozarks to Hawaii, Alaska and Canada.
A life celebration will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 4:30-6:00 P.M. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gold Medal Gymnastics, 509 W. State Hwy 174, Republic, MO 65738, in care of Shannon Donohue.
