Bill Zieske, 81, of Springfield, MO. passed away August 11, 2012 in Manor Care. He bravely fought cancer for 3 years.
He was born July 24, 1931 in Lansing, MI. He served 4 years in the Navy during the Korean War. He married Barbara (Wedl) in 1956, and they were married for 56 years. He graduated from Michigan State and also the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He worked for several Trucking Firms and traveled worldly.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Springfield; two daughters Beverly Gasper and husband Joe, Barrie Yanniello and husband Dominec all of Allentown, PA; three grandchildren Billy and wife Christine of Maine and Brie and Bradlie both of Allentown, PA.; a sister Charlene and a Aunt Mildred.
He was always smiling and loved life, He was very active with the Optimist Club, Chamber of Commerce, Korean Veterans, Church Usher and always ready to help where it was needed.
Visitation will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. before services at 11:30 A.M. Burial with full military honors will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to The American Cancer Society or to the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bill’s honor.
