They would settle and raise their family in the St. Louis area.
He was known for his dedication to his work as a Refrigeration Air Condition Foreman at the John Cochran VA Hospital and the Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital in St. Louis, MO where he made a lasting impact.
When William, known to all as Bill. was not working, he enjoyed spending time camping with family and friends, fishing at the Bennett Springs trout stream with his dear wife, Jean and life long friends, Judy and Ron Gaines and other family members that might join in at times. Bill had a love of trains and made them a hobby, especially in his later years. He especially enjoyed sharing his love of trains with his great grandchildren. All that knew Bill, knew that he loved watching the birds come to his many feeders, especially in his last years and could name them all.
After retiring at the age of 55, Bill and Jean moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas where he loved to take the family out on the lake in his pontoon boat and make his famous barbecue ribs for the summer holidays.
Bill’s devotion to his wife was evident as he took on the project of building their dream home on Robinson Point overlooking Lake Norfork. With his own hands, he built a 2800 square foot home–taking 10 years to complete. He moved Jean in just 3 months before her passing.
After Jean fell ill, Bill and Jean moved to the Springfield, MO area to be closer to his daughter and her family where he would continue to be a huge part of his grandchildren’s lives.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Verna (Jean) Glasner and infant son Michael Glasner.
