William “Bill”
White, age 81 of Bolivar, MO, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Citizens
Memorial Hospital Bolivar, MO, following a short illness. He was born October 19, 1931, in Kansas City,
MO, the son of William H. and Mildred F. (Postel) White. Bill was a graduate of West Port High School
in Kansas City, MO. He is a US Army
Korean War veteran. After working with
his father, Bill moved to Colorado to start his construction business. He was united in marriage to Maureen Jones
June 11, 1983. Following retirement in
2003, he returned to MO and settled in Bolivar.
Bill was a volunteer at both the Polk County Senior Center and Citizens
Memorial Hospital.
He
is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Irma Doolin.
Bill is survived by his wife of 30
years Maureen; two sons: Craig White and wife Diana, and Brent White; one
daughter Wendy White; two step-sons: David White, and Michael White and wife
Dawn; seven grandchildren: Destine, Kelli, Monica, Megan, Mira, Alexandra, and
Michael; four great grandchildren; four siblings: Jeanine Hayes, Arthur White,
Loren White, and Carole Gillespie; as well as many other relatives and friends.
A
celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 14, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at
the Polk County Senior Center: 1850 W. Broadway
Bolivar, MO. According to Bill’s wishes his body will be
cremated.
Memorials are suggested to the Polk County Senior Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts
Chapel Bolivar, MO.
