William LeRoy Baker passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Springfield, MO. He was born October 31, 1926 in Springfield, MO, the son of Ernest and Ruby Baker.LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Barbara Baker on October 3.One of his favorite sayings was ” when the going gets tough for everybody else, then it’s just right for me”. LeRoy never met a stranger. He was a very kind and generous man. Love and joy definitely described this man, not to mention a very dedicated husband, father and friend. His work ethic was uncompromised, always burning the midnight oil and never complaining. He always loved when people said “My boy LeRoy”.He is survived by his children; Philip of Topeka, KS, Bill of Maui, Hawaii, David and Cindy both of Springfield, MO, a sister Mary Lucille Stone, niece Mary Helen who was like a daughter, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at 9:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO.
