William Maynard Grady, age 91, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 in Cox Medical Center South. He was born September 11, 1919 in Taneyville, Mo., to Joseph and Grace (Smilley) Grady.
He was a veteran and served in the United States Army during W.W.II.
William loved to attend Springfield Cardinals Games. He and Sarah loved going to eat at Golden Corral on Fridays. They were both on a bowling team, loved to fish, and at one time loved to deer hunt. William loved to collect owls statues, plant flowers, grow vegetables, tinker in his garage, and going to gargae sales.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Grady and Grace ‘Smilley’ Grady; son, Joe Grady; and daughter-in-law, Geneva; a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; three brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah (Tindle) Grady, Springfield, Mo.; children, Lena Mullins, Halfway, Mo., Bill Grady, Miller, Mo., Debbie Buxton, Goodson, Mo., Ronnie Grady, Springfield, Mo., Allen Grady, Springfield, Mo., Chalis Gourley, Pleasant Hope, Mo., and David Grady, Springfield, Mo.; twenty-six grandchildren; and forty-six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. in Bellview Cemetery, Thursday, March 24, 2011 with Darrell Reid officiating. Visitation will be from from 7-8:00 P.M. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.
