Surely mercy and goodness will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
William R. King, age 82, of Springfield is now in the house of the Lord, with the loved ones who preceded him in death, his parents, Clarence and Ethel King; the love of his life, Freda McDaniel King; and his brothers, Clarence Guy, and Clyde King; and his sisters, Florence King and Mildred Haynes.
He is survived by his children, Robin and her husband Randy Lamoreaux, Danny and his wife Molly, Larry King and his companion Carol Roberts, Sally and her husband Stan Grandon and Alice King; grandchildren, Jessica Jones and David Jones, Angela and her husband Greg Mills, Corey King and Aaron King and Erik King; and also great-grandchildren, Alex and Abby.
His family was his greatest joy in his life. He also enjoyed reading his Bible, gardening and listening to the Cardinals baseball games, his unconditional love and compassion will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2010, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial in U.S. National Cemetery, with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
