William “Bill” Tyree Nine, went to be with Jesus on July 5, 2011, at Brookhaven with his family at his bedside.
Bill was born on November 9, 1927 in Windsor, MO. to Wm. E. and Genevieve Nine. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Wanda and a baby girl Pamela.
Bill graduated from Windsor High School where he was a star basketball player and a proud eagle scout. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served on air craft carrier U.S.S. Rendova Bay until the end of W.W.II, after the war he went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone, a career lasting 39 years. After retiring he met his present wife Patricia A. (Fleming) Nine, and they married September 13, 1986 at Messiah Lutheran Church.
Traveling, camping and fishing was their favorite things to do while living in Pine Island, Florida where they made many friends, then returning to Springfield, MO in 1999.
Bill loved his Lord, his family and his friends in that order. He is survived by his loving wife Pat, his daughter Sherry (Keith) Brooks of Springfield, a step-son Robert (Mary) Fleming of Chicago, a step-daughter Suzanne (George) Noe, of Springfield. Two wonderful Grandsons, Ryan (Cali) Fleming and Zackary (Natalie) Brooks, and a grand daughter Kristen M. Fleming of Chicago and best friends for 40 years Loretta Divine and her family and Bud and Pat Brown.
Bills kind and loving ways are gone from our midst, but we will all meet in Heaven some wonderful day.
Funeral services will be on July 11, 2011 at 10:30 am at Messiah Lutheran church, 925 E. Seminole Springfield, MO. with a dinner to follow in the reception hall. There will be a private inurnment held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Family requests no flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Compassus 1465 E. Primrose Springfield, MO or to the Stained Glass fund at the church in Bill’s memory.
