Willie Murrell Jones went to be with the Lord December 11, 2013
after a short battle with cancer at the age of 72.
Willie was born march 25, 1941 to Clithia Elmeth (Boatman) Jones
and William (Bill) Scribner of Ava, Missouri.
On august 26, 1961 he married the love of his life, Betty Jo
Jackson who preceded him in death on December 12, 2006.
To this union five children were born; Willa, Michael, Wanda, Mark,
and Mathew. He retired from Fasco Industries after over 25 years of
faithful employment. Willie had a love for life, family, friends,
and cars. He spent most of his life in the Ava area, venturing to
Kansas City and Illinois, often to visit family.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents Clithia Elmeth Offord
•and William Scribner, his wife of 45 years Betty Jo (Jackson)
Jones, his brothers Lowell, Hank, and William Jones and his sister
Mag Myers.
Willie is survived by his daughter Willa Lockmon, her husband Sam,
son Mike Jones, his wife Tracy, daughter Wanda Krischke, her husband
Jim, son Mark Jones, his wife Kim, and son Mathew Jones, his wife
Terra. Grandchildren include Sammy Lockmon, April Batson, Tyrel

Willie is survived by his brothers Lee and Charlie Jones, their
wives Lavon and Reta of Ava, a favored nephew David Jones of Ava,
his cousin Thomas Wood of Lampe and many other nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends.
Willie had an infectious laugh; he loved to work on old cars, read
a good western novel, and tell funny stories of his adventures,
family, and friends. He has left this earth and gone to a better
home, but he has not left our hearts, a place he will always
remain.
Arrangements are under the care of Greenlawn Funeral Home East and it was his wish that the family celebrate his life in private. If you wish to make a memorial donation, please make them to local Lung Cancer and Diabetes Foundations.
