Wilma Cathrine Hughes Wilma Cathrine Hughes, 83 of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010. She was born January 26, 1927 in Wynne, Ark. Wilma was a homemaker, member of the Battlefield United Methodist Church, and a nurse assistant for 40 years until retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruffin Hughes, and son, Ron Hughes. She is survived by her children, Bud and Connie Chitwood, Joe and Beth Kiser; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edmond McElroy, Jamie and wife Virginia McElroy of Ark.; sister, Willene and husband Jerry Lourien of Ark. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on June 4, 2010, in Lockwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the organization of the donors choice.
