Wilma Winfree, age 91, passed away at Glendale Gardens in Springfield on December 3. Wilma was born in Council Grove, Kansas, to Victor and Eva Mae Kearn. She spent her childhood years in Delavan, Kansas. Those years meant so much to her. Her family took her back many times to walk the streets of Delavan. Wilma was married to Fay J. Winfree for 27 years and had two children, Lonnie J. Winfree and Connie J. Cantrell.
She is survived by her daughter and two granddaughters, Crystal Stevens and Amanda Ernst. Wilma worked for Wal-Mart for 22 years. Later in life, she lived with her daughter, then went to Glendale Gardens where she became this happy, fun-loving person that was a joy to be around.
Wilma loved cats. She always had a cat in her life, even a robotic cat that Glendale Gardens gave her, that she loved so much. Wilma was loved and will be missed by many.
The family sends a special “thank you” to Glendale Gardens and their staff for all the amazing care and love they provided to Wilma.
