Wilma Laree Burkhart, 87, of Springfield, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, in her home. She was born August 16, 1925, in Lewistown, MO to Justin and Wilma Blake. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. On August 19, 1946, she married Cletus J. Burkhart. In her early years, she babysat many children in the area. She later worked for Zenith for 10 years.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus “Curly” Burkhart, after 57 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her brother Billy Dean Blake. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Laree Morton and her husband Walter; two grandchildren, Melissa Laree Hyden and Cletus Andrew Morton; four great-grandchildren, William Matthew Hyden, Anna Laree Hyden, Dorothy Renee Hyden, and Erin Nicole Morton. She is also survived by two sisters, Lillian Nadene Parrott and Peggy Jean Gragg; four brothers, Charles Eldon Blake, Donald Edward Blake, Leon Blake, and Robert Dale Blake. She will be missed for her kindness, love, creativeness and her home cooked meals.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Family requests memorial donations be made to Mercy Hospice, in lieu of flowers.
