Wreatha Juanita Lowery, 79, of Springfield, entered into Heaven on December 3, 2012, after a long illness. She left this world peacefully with her children by her side.
Wreatha was born on April 16, 1933, in Dallas County to Frank and Florence Butler Wright. She married the love of her life, Wallace Lowery, on October 29, 1949, in Harrison, Arkansas. She was a lifelong resident of Springfield and particularly loved the northside where she grew up as a child. Wreatha was a strong Christian woman who was unwavering in her beliefs. She became a member of Bellview Baptist Church in 1965 and retained that membership until her death.
Wreatha was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Florence Wright, her husband of forty-three years Wallace Lowery, her son Terry Lowery, her brother Frankie Wright, her sister Tillie Robertson, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including her very best friends Mary Plemmons and Grethel Ross.
Wreatha leaves behind her sons, Wallace Earl of Springfield, James Dean and wife Kathy of Marshfield, and Kevin Gene and wife Suzanne of Bolivar; twelve grandchildren Monty, Marti, Wally, Josh, Wilburn, LaDonna, Terry, Stephanie, Sommer, Heather, Kevin, and Hannah; twenty-four great grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends.
Wreatha provided unconditional love to her family and was a loving caregiver to all who entered her home. Her interests included cooking big meals, the holidays, genealogy, flowers, country and gospel music, old movies, and sitting on her front porch.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., December 7, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., December 8, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery near Fellow’s Lake.
The family would like to thank Mercy Hospital, the Transitional Care Unit nursing staff, Dr. Leonardo, and Dr. Meldi, for providing her with great care and loving support.
